In the Summer of 1934 a team headed by Professor Willy Messersechmitt and Ingeneer Rethel began to develop a new single seat fighter aeroplane. The German Ministry of Aeronautics was looking for a replacement for their ageing biplanes so the BF-109 became the standard combat aircraft for the German airforce.
Features:
All decals are pre-applied and there is also an overall matt finish that seals all the graphics so no lifting. Also all the glass and plastic parts like the canopy are correctly colour matched, unlike some other artf's that are available. Other changes have made the new range lighter than their predecessors without weakening the structure. With all our aircraft their will be a primer finish option on a special order basis.

The 109 is designed to use our new generation CNC retracts with air up, air down rams. These units are designed at our factory specifically for our aircraft. We have also altered the geometry slightly to make the model easier to takeoff and land without detracting to much from scale. As with most of the range their will also be a deluxe retract option available later in the year.
Due to our Warbirds having an accurate outline they will, depending on engine choice, may need additional nose weight to balance. This is unlike other brands who extend the nose to get around this problem.
Our newly designed retracts and Oleos are a vast improvement over the old units. These units will be the standard optional fitment for all of our 120 size Warbirds and Twins (oleos sold separately).
